Liberty Jones was born and raised in Chicago, IL. As she was growing up, she was exposed to an array of music and arts. Her father often listened, played, and composed jazz piano pieces. Her mother would regularly listen to a wide range of soul music, Barbra Streisand, Tchaikovsky, and The Three Tenors. Liberty Jones started dancing, acting, writing, and reciting poetry at a very young age and carried her talents all the way through to college where she majored in Mass Media Arts and was cast in her first nationally syndicated commercial.
Though Liberty grew up in a house full of a variety of music and arts she still never thought in a million years she would be a singer and songwriter. It was not until she moved back to Chicago after living in Atlanta for many years that she received and answered her true calling to be a singer and songwriter. Slowly but surely she has been working, praying, building, and discovering her eclectic voice and sound.
Liberty Jones's music is an extraordinary, sweet, and fulfilling meal of emotion stirring music that tastes like Sharon Jones, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin along with subtle flavors of Anita Baker and Diana Ross. Her unique and captivating songwriting style is filled with soothing tones, power, passion, depth, and messages that resonate with the soul, spirit, and mind.
Her goal is always to connect with love, teach, liberate, empower, and relate to her audience through her music and any creative expression or project that she produces. Liberty Jones long-awaited debut EP Peacemaker will be released March 2018.
